An IntelliCarbTM compensating carburetor lets you cut longer between filter cleanings and the decompression valve for easier cold starts. Wrap-handle version (R) also available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by The best chain saw I've ever used My father and I log for firewood on our farm, when we come across a tree that is too big for our stihl ms361, we pull out the 440 magnum to fall the really big old growth appalachian timber in our area. This saw grabs and is worth twice its weight in gold. There's literally no task too big on our farm that this saw can't handle. Even with the chain being used all day, this saw cuts just as strong on the first cut as it does its last. Definitely worth twice its weight in gold. January 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by heated handles no longer available amust here in northwoods after 30 yrs forced to buy another brand have owned 10 stihl saws in last 30 yrs have seen constant improvement in products ms440 latest purchased in 2011 has been very dependable . would buy again however will be forced to buy another brand for winter cutting. sure wish heated handles still offered. Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolute Reliability I bought a new 044 16 years ago and it has been the most reliable, trouble free power tool I have ever owned. I'm not a tree cutting pro by any means, but this saw has been a pure joy to use over the years. Sarts and runs like the day I got it, with no adjustments or repairs, never had to touch it. I like Stihl products, but this saw has been head and shoulders above them all. October 28, 2012
